Have fun, take it easy and experience our exciting Zagred Highlights bike tour and discover all the major sights of Croatia’s capital.
We will venture through the Lower- and Upper Town of Zagreb, visit the National Theatre, Parliament and Government house, and discover Zagreb’s Green Horseshoe.
Along the way, we will learn why Zagreb has a “big bang” every day at noon, what’s so bloody about the Bloody Bridge and who was stoned at the Stone Gate. You’ll also get tips for the best restaurants and shopping areas and, for what’s most important in Zagreb, the best places for coffee, beer or “rakija” (brandy).
The tour ends with a surprise!

Usually, the Zagreb Highlights tour lasts 2 – 2.5 hours during which time you will be able to experience all the must-see sights of the city. The tour may, however, be prolonged; depending on the number of questions you have to ask!
We will start our tour in the courtyard of the main square, Ban Josip Jelacic Trg. From here we cycle to Petar Preradović Square which is colloquially known as “Flower Square” (Cvjetni trg) after all the flower stalls which have been a feature of the place since fairs held here in the 14th century.
We will then continue to cycle to Lenucian, or the Green Horseshoe. This is a complex of 7 squares and parks; a representative space which is an important feature of Zagreb’s urban identity.
Following, we will continue cycling until we reach Kaptol, the oldest part of Upper Town Zagreb. Here we can explore the old cathedral and St Mark’s Square. Just before reaching Dolac, the largest and most famous open air market where you will feel the vibe of the town and experience local flavours, we will pass through the “Kamena vrata”, Stone Gate: a major sight of Zagreb situated in Upper Town.
We will finish the tour riding through Strossmayer’s promenade, established in the mid 19th century and later named by Bishop Josip Juraj Strossmayer. This promenade was built by voluntary contributions from the citizens of Zagreb and is a beautiful walkway full of chestnut trees overlooking the lower town.
The Zagreb Highlights bike tours begins daily at 10 am and 2 pm (until late April). During the summer months, the afternoon tour starts at 5 pm in order to avoid the summer heat.
