Skitača MTB day tour
(approx. 35 km / 600 m of elevation / MTB level 1-2)

Interested in adventure? Then climb the mountain of Skitača! We offer a transfer from the Bike Center Labinci to the center of the old town of Labin. From here we will get on our bikes and begin cycling to the village of Bartići. From there, we will follow beautiful, tranquil forest trails to the lake below the mountain’s peak. A further trail will then lead us down to the village of Skitača from where we have unique and stunning view of the Kvarner Bay.

On our way back to Rabac, we will take the Bella Vista trail. The trail’s name is a promise! Here you will experience the most beautiful views. Moreover, all your senses will be needed to catch the unique Mediterranean landscape and absorb the scents of the region. Keep in mind that the last descent to the sea is a bit more challenging, so we recommend the asphalt track for less experienced mountain bikers.

This tour is offered on request all year round on any day of the week with a mininum number of 3 participants. Duration of the tour is approx. 8 hours.

The day’s meeting point is Bike Center Labinci a few kilometres northwest of Porec. On request, we are happy to organise a free transfer between your accommodation and the Bike Centre (up to 10km distance, min. 3 participants).

From Labinci we will take a  transfer to the old town of Labin. Here we will mount our bikes and begin to pedal down a quiet road to the village of Bartići.

From Bartići we will have to master a short, technical uphill trail before continuing on an undulating gravel road which, soon after, changes to a forest trail.

The next 5 km will alternate between ascents and descents and – just before we reach the village of Skitača – there will be an uphill ride on some rocky terrain. However, the reward for your effort is the much loved view of Kvarner from the top of Skitača.

After a short break at this remarkable viewpoint, we will continue on. The next 5 km of the tour follows an undulating trail that constantly surprises: Enjoy a unique ride far away from civilization with only a few old villages, stone houses, drywalls, untouched nature, scented Mediterranean air and, of course, the magnificent views to be seen from both sides.

Following, you will experience an amazing downhill ride that is sure to put a smile on your face: To begin we will ride down a wider, forest road before reaching the last part of the downhill ride; a flowing single trail. Finally, we will reach the paved road and, after not too long, we will arrive back at the old town of Labin.

There will be time to enjoy a coffee break in Labin, after which you may choose whether you would like to descend down to Rabac on a technical downhill trail or on the asphalted road. At the end we transfer you back to Labinci.

The total biking distance is around 35 km and 600 meters of elevation.

Good fitness and safe riding skills are required for this day tour.
