Throughout the entire tour an accompanying vehicle and luggage service is at your disposal.

1st Day Cavtat (Arrival)
Individual arrival to Cavtat and check-in at the first hotel. Afterwards there is time to enjoy a stroll around the tranquil little city or to visit the nearby Dubrovnik (taxi: distance approx. 30 min.). There will be an opportunity to join a guided city tour of Dubrovnik in the late afternoon (if booked in advance), before returning to the hotel in Cavtat. At 6 pm, the first official meeting with the tour guide or a local contact person takes place at the hotel.
2nd Day Cavtat – Herceg Novi (aprx. 28 mi./45 km, 2,630 ft./800 m of elevation)
Our first bike tour begins in Cavtat and leads through the region of Primorje to the border of Montenegro. Along the way we enjoy plenty of spectacular views over the deep azure sea and the lush plant life. After crossing the border, we head towards the terrace-like bay of Kotor. We continue cycling along the promenade to Herceg Novi, which lies at the entrance to Kotor Bay. After lunch, we check into the hotel. Take the chance to stroll along the promenade of Hercig Novi and enjoy a swim before taking part in a guided city tour through the city centre. Overnight stay in Herceg Novi.
3rd Day Herceg Novi – Budva (aprx. 31 mi./50 km, 2,950 ft./ 900 m of elevation)
In the morning, we cycle along the Kotor coastal road until we reach the ferry, crossing from Kamenari to Leptane. From here our tour takes us first to Tivat and then along a near traffic-free panoramic road with spectacular views as far as Budva. In the afternoon, we have enough time to explore the picturesque old town of Budva. Before dinner, we can join a guided tour through Budva, a city almost completely destroyed by an earthquake in 1979. We spend the night in Budva.
4th Day Cetinje – Virpazar (aprx. 25 mi./40 km, 1,640 ft./500 m of elevation)
Today, a short transfer brings us to the former capital of Montenegro, Cetinje, with a stop at the famous Hotel Island of Sveti Stefan along the way. Once we have arrived in Cetinje, we head off on a wonderful bike tour, enjoying a picnic along the way. Our day’s destination is the city of Virpazar on the shores of Lake Skadar. At 30 mi./48 km long and 9 mi./14 km wide, Skadar is one of the largest lakes on the Balkan Peninsula and offers a welcome resting place for migratory birds on their journey south. In 1983 it was declared a national park. Weather permitting, an afternoon boat trip over this natural paradise is well worthwhile. Overnight stay in Virpazar.
5th Day Virpazar – Rijeka Crnojevica (aprx. 28 mi./45 km, 3,610 ft./1,100 m of elevation)
After breakfast we hop on our bikes and take a small detour inland. We then continue along an almost traffic-free road all the way to Rijeka Crnojevica. The town is known for its architecture and typical stone houses, dating back to the 17th and 18th century. Afterwards, we are free to decide whether to return to Cetinje in the support vehicle or discover the last 12 mi./20 km stretch with its 2,300 ft./700 m elevation by bike. Once back in the former capital, we enjoy a city tour of Cetinje, exploring the most important sights such as the Montenegrin president’s residence. A number of other government buildings and former embassies testify to Cetinje’s past as the country’s capital city. Overnight stay in Cetinje.
6th Day Cetinje – Lovćen – Kotor (aprx. 31 mi./50 km, 2,950 ft./900 m of elevation)
Today’s tour takes us up the Lovćen. If the climb is too tough, it is possible to travel either part of the way or all of the way with the accompanying transport vehicle. From the highest point (more than 4,900 ft./1,500 m above sea level) we can enjoy a rapid descent with spectacular views over the Bay of Kotor, the largest and best-protected bay in the entire Adriatic, which is surrounded by mountains reaching heights of up to 5,580 ft./1,700 m. We continue all the way to the 2,000-year-old town of Kotor, famous for its medieval centre and protected as UNESCO World Heritage Site. There is the opportunity to join a guided city tour before the day comes to a close, perhaps with a leisurely walk through the town and drink at one of the numerous cosy cafés and bars.
7th Day Kotor – Cavtat (aprx. 12 + 25 mi./20 + 40 km, 2,630 ft./800 m of elevation)
The last cycle tour of our trip leads along the bay of Kotor until we reach the ferry port between Lepetane and Kamenari. We cross the impressive bay of Kotor for the last time and hop on the shuttle bus on the other side, which brings us back to Croatia. Along the way, we take a break at one of the most beautiful restaurants in the country. We then get back on the saddle to pedal the last few kilometres of the journey.
8th Day Cavtat (Departure or extension)
Check-out of the hotel after breakfast or extended stay in Montenegro.
GOOD TO KNOW
Requirements
Level 3 – with support vehicle. The cycle tours require a good basic fitness, which the participants should have acquired through regular bicycling. The trips reach altitudes between 1,640 to 4,920 ft/500 – 1,500 m. The daily tours of 12.5 to 31 ft/20 – 50 km on average lead through hilly and mountainous terrain but can be completed without time constraints. Some steeper and longer ascents must also be tackled, but it is perfectly acceptable to push the bicycle if necessary. Most of the roads are asphalt and quiet outside the holiday season. A support vehicle accompanies most of the cycle tours.
Requirement to wear a helmet
Helmet use is mandatory on all bicycle rides. You are strongly encouraged to bring your own (well-fitted) helmet. A limited number of rental bike helmets are provided (free of charge, reservation requested).
Special Features
On this journey, the tour guide does not accompany you by bike. Rather, a support vehicle accompanies the cyclists and remains close to the group at all times. Important information about the country and its people as well as bike service is available whenever you need it. It is also possible to make use of the support vehicle if the cycling tour becomes too exhausting.
Bringing Children
In general, we believe that only children with sufficient stamina and a minimum age of 10 are capable of tackling the bicycle tours. Please note that the minimum height for rental bikes is 4 ft/1.30 m.
Luggage service & emergency service
While you are cycling your luggage will be transported by our reliable, friendly luggage service. In case of accidents our special emergency service is always at your disposal.

The tour has half-board catering, which begins with dinner on the day of arrival and ends with breakfast on the day of departure. All catered meals are at the overnight hotels.
